What does convertible soft top cleaning involve?

We use specialist fabric-safe cleaning agents to remove atmospheric soiling, green algae, bird droppings, mould and general staining from the hood fabric. The plastic windows are clarified separately. We then apply a specialist waterproofing and UV protection treatment to seal and protect the fabric.

How often should I have the soft top treated?

We recommend treating the soft top once or twice a year, depending on use and exposure. Vehicles parked outside are exposed to more UV, rain and organic growth, so more frequent treatment is advisable. Regular treatment dramatically extends the life of the hood fabric.

Can you remove green mould and algae?

Yes — in most cases, green organic growth (algae, mould, lichen) can be safely and effectively removed with specialist cleaning agents formulated for soft top fabrics. Severe cases may require additional work. We'll advise honestly based on the condition of your hood.

Will the treatment damage the fabric?

No — we only use products specifically formulated for soft top hood fabrics. General car shampoo or household products can damage the fabric weave and void manufacturer treatment. We use professional soft top specialists' products only.

What about the plastic rear window?

Plastic rear windows are cleaned and clarified as part of the service — we use specialist products safe for soft plastic to prevent scratching or hazing.
